Whether your lips have lost contour or pigment Lipmentation can give you back what nature has taken away over time. It creates a more defined vermillion line and cupid’s bow whilst delivering the perfect colour to suit individual needs. Lipmentation ultimately gives your lips the appearance of a fuller more youthful look which will transform the way you look and feel about yourself.

What is it?

Lipmentation is a procedure whereby pigments are penetrated into the top layer of the lips to deliver colour where it is needed. It defines the vermillion border, cupid’s bow & lateral commissures, whilst filling the upper and lower lips with colour . The appearance is completely natural, soft and defining and blends with or without an already defined vermillion line. The newest technology in pigment and technique is used in Lipmentation which allows it to stay in place regardless of how light the strokes are applied.

How does it differ from other lip tattoos?

Lipmentation is like no other tattoo on the market in Ireland today . With knowledge gleaned from specialists in Hong Kong, Malaysia & Moscow, it has been four years in developing the technique. The hard work and research has finally paid off and the results are breathtaking. Lipmentation delivers stunning natural colour unlike other lip tattoos that use outdated techniques and pigments.

Will I get the result I want immediately?

Immediately after your first procedure your lips will appear to be more swollen and stronger in colour than usual but this dissipates within a few hours. On Day 1 to Day 5 you will look like you have a lip gloss on. After this period, vasodilation occurs and it will appear as if the effects of the treatment have disappeared. This is entirely natural. Within 2 – 3 weeks the colour will reappear as a soft blush, perfect for those who just want a healthy younger looking lip without much apparent colour.

At your 2nd treatment, we will start applying your chosen colour and when this is applied over the existing colour, a lovely hue will develop. From Day 1 to Day 5 this will appear like a lipstick but will reduce to a lip blush affect after vasodilation.

Should you require a more permanent lipstick effect, we will achieve this at your 3rd appointment. It looks amazing and you won’t have to worry about applying lipstick for at least 3 years and up to 5 years.

Lip Treatments and Cold Sores

If you are prone to cold sores or have experienced a cold sore outbreak in the past, it indicates that you have the herpes simplex virus in your body.  It is important to consider this factor before undergoing a lip blush treatment, which involves a form of lip tattooing.  While the trauma caused by the procedure is usually minimal, it can potentially trigger another outbreak of cold sores.

To mitigate the risk of cold sore recurrence there are a couple of options you can explore.  One approach is to try taking lysine supplements which are commonly available in health shops.  Lysine is an amino acid that may help prevent or reduce the severity of cold sores.  It is recommended to take lysine for at least a month before the lip blush treatment to potentially minimize the chances of a breakout.

Alternatively, you can consult with your doctor about obtaining a prescription for antiviral tablets, such as Avaxx.  Antiviral medications are specifically designed to combat viral infections like herpes simplex.  Your doctor can evaluate your medical history and provide guidance on whether an antiviral prescription is suitable for you.

It is important to note that the staff at Up To My Eyes are not medical professionals.  Therefore, it is always advisable to consult with your healthcare provider for personalised advice and recommendations regarding your specific situation.

Is Lipmentation painful?

There is no visual downtime, the procedure is virtually painless and the side effects are temporary. Some swelling and redness in and around the area, with exaggerated colour of the vermillion lasts for about a day. A sensation of dryness will last for approx 4-5 days but our lip aftercare will minimise this.

Can I choose a shape & colour?

It takes careful attention and observation to evaluate each subject’s own unique turns, tucks, folds and roundness of the mouth and lips. But the time and patience is well worth it; with this pragmatic and well-observed structure in place, our therapists can infuse your lips with an emotive strength.

The shape of your lips, cupid’s bow and vermillion line can be improved profoundly by the Lipmentation treatment, without a surgical procedure or fillers. However, on occasion, depending on the age of the client, it might also be recommended to you to get a minimum amount of collagen filler to enhance our treatment. The colour choice is limitless and our therapists will impart all of their knowledge and expertise in Lipmentation to help you make the right decision to suit your skin tone and personality.
